L'ambiance
This Victorian building on Mare Street has been transformed into Hackney’s go-to late-night playground, serving up everything from authentic wood-fired pizzas to craft cocktails that actually make you want to stay for round two. The three-floor setup means you can start with a quick bite on the ground floor, then climb upstairs to the cocktail lounge with its own roof terrace for those golden hour vibes. It’s the kind of place where locals actually hang out, not just tourists chasing Instagram shots.

Hackney’s late-night playground with serious pizza creds
The London Fields hits that sweet spot between a proper East End pub and a slick cocktail bar. You walk in and immediately notice the Victorian bones—high ceilings, ornate details, and that warm, lived-in feel that makes you want to stay. The Well Street Pizza residency is the real draw here; that 48-hour fermented dough and wood-fired oven produce some of the best Neapolitan-style pizza I’ve had in Hackney. Pair it with one of their gin cocktails and you’ve got a solid evening sorted.
What sets this place apart is the layout. Start on the ground floor for the main bar energy, then head upstairs to the cocktail lounge with its own roof terrace—perfect for summer evenings when you want to sip something while watching the sky turn pink. The hours are generous too, especially on weekends when they stay open until 3am. It’s not always quiet, but that’s part of the charm. You’re here for the buzz, the good food, and the kind of night that ends with you walking home feeling like you actually made the most of it.
