The location is genuinely unbeatable—sitting by those floor-to-ceiling windows watching the Thames flow past while sipping a pint of Young's Sherwood feels like cheating. The food is solid British fare done well: the battered haddock is crispy perfection, and the Sunday roast (especially the Yorkshire pudding) is worth the trip alone. Le Founders Arms maîtrise parfaitement l'expérience du pub britannique moderne sans tomber dans le piège touristique. L'emplacement est vraiment imbattable : s'asseoir devant ces baies vitrées en regardant la Tamise couler tout en sirotant une Young's Sherwood, c'est presque tricher. La nourriture est solide, du bon bistro britannique bien exécuté : le haddock pané est croustillant à souhait, et le dimanche roast (surtout le Yorkshire pudding) vaut le déplacement à lui seul. Le service est amical sans être envahissant, et la terrasse bord de rivière est parfaite pour les soirées d'été quand le soleil se cache derrière Saint-Paul.
Ce n'est pas parfait—la foule peut devenir dense autour de l'heure du déjeuner et le week-end, et il faudra réserver à l'avance pour les meilleures places face à la vue.
