Swift Borough has quickly become a go-to for anyone living south of the Thames who wants proper cocktails without the Soho price tag. The staff are genuinely skilled—you’ll see them juggling multiple shakers with ease—and the menu strikes a nice balance between classics and creative seasonal specials. The Irish Coffee is a standout: rich, velvety, and topped with freshly grated nutmeg that elevates it beyond the usual pub version. Drinks hover around £10, and happy hour brings them down to £7, which is rare for this quality in central London.
The space itself is split cleverly: downstairs feels like a secret speakeasy with its intimate seating and concept-driven menu, while upstairs is more relaxed and welcoming for walk-ins. It’s not perfect—there’s no food on-site, though you’re literally steps from Borough Market’s best bites—but that’s hardly a dealbreaker. This is the kind of bar that feels like it’s been here forever, even though it’s only been open since autumn 2022.
