Salt Yard Borough has been a staple in the Borough area since 2022, offering a solid escape from the market's hustle with its Spanish-Italian tapas concept. The food is consistently good – the Iberico presa and lamb ossobuco are standout dishes that show real care in execution. The wine list is genuinely impressive, with staff who clearly know their stuff and can guide you through regional selections without being pretentious.
It's not perfect though. The space can get quite packed, especially on weekends, and some regulars feel the quality has dipped slightly since the brand expanded. Prices are on the higher side for what you get, but you're paying for the location and the effort they put into the small plates. Still, it's one of the better tapas spots in Southwark and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Salt Yard Borough est une valeur sûre du quartier depuis son ouverture en 2022, offrant une échappatoire bienvenue au tumulte du marché avec son concept de tapas espagnoles et italiennes. La cuisine est régulièrement au rendez-vous – la presa Ibérique et l'osso buco à l'agneau sont des plats qui marquent par leur soin et leur exécution. La carte des vins est particulièrement impressionnante, avec un personnel qui s'y connaît vraiment et peut vous guider sans aucun snobisme.
Ce n'est pas parfait non plus. L'espace devient rapidement bondé, surtout le week-end, et certains habitués estiment que la qualité a légèrement baissé depuis l'expansion de la marque. Les prix sont dans le haut de gamme pour ce que vous obtenez, mais vous payez aussi pour l'emplacement et l'effort fourni sur les petites assiettes. Néanmoins, c'est l'un des meilleurs restaurants de tapas de Southwark et vaut vraiment le détour si vous êtes dans le coin.
