The star attraction is the massive 1,500 m² Roman-themed playground—think wooden forts, zip lines, and sand pits disguised as a Roman oppidum. It’s not just for kids though; there’s a fitness area, beach volleyball, ping-pong tables, and even a chic wooden pavilion from the Paris 2024 Olympics that provides shade on sunny afternoons.

Koenigshoffen’s New Crown Jewel
Parc des Romains is exactly what Koenigshoffen needed—a proper, well-designed green space that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The Roman theme is executed with real creativity; the playground isn’t just slides and swings but a full-blown fortification with zip lines and rope boats that kids absolutely love. What impressed me most was how inclusive it feels: grandparents can sit on benches while toddlers climb, teenagers can hit the basketball court, and dog owners have a dedicated area. The Olympic pavilion is a nice touch too—great for shade and a bit of Parisian flair.
It’s not perfect. Being brand new, some of the landscaping is still settling in, and the sheer size means it can feel a bit empty on weekday mornings. But on weekends, especially in good weather, it’s buzzing with local families and the vibe is genuinely warm and community-focused. At €5 million, you can tell the city invested seriously, and it shows in the quality of the equipment and the thoughtful layout. If you live in or near Koenigshoffen, this is now your go-to spot for an afternoon out.

Le Parc des Romains est exactement ce que Koenigshoffen attendait : un vrai poumon vert, bien conçu, qui ne fait pas figure d’accessoire. Le thème romain est vraiment réussi—le terrain de jeux n’est pas juste des balançoires et toboggans, mais une véritable forteresse avec tyroliennes et bateaux en corde que les enfants adorent. Ce qui m’a le plus marqué, c’est à quel point l’espace est inclusif : les grands-parents peuvent s’installer sur les bancs pendant que les tout-petits grimpent, les ados peuvent jouer au basket, et les propriétaires de chiens ont une zone dédiée. Le pavillon des Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024 est une belle touche aussi—parfait pour se mettre à l’ombre avec un peu de charme parisien.
Ce n’est pas parfait. Étant tout nouveau, certains aménagements paysagers sont encore en cours de stabilisation, et la taille imposante peut donner une impression de vide en milieu de semaine. Mais le week-end, surtout quand il fait beau, il y a du monde, des familles locales, et l’ambiance est vraiment chaleureuse et communautaire. Avec 5 millions d’euros d’investissement, on sent que la ville a mis les moyens, et ça se voit dans la qualité des équipements et la disposition réfléchie de l’espace. Si vous habitez à Koenigshoffen ou dans les environs, c’est maintenant votre adresse incontournable pour une après-midi détente.
