Kuro is exactly what Bordeaux needs more of: a no-nonsense espresso bar that takes its coffee seriously without the pretension. The space is small and intimate, tucked away behind the Grand Hotel so you won't get swarmed by tourists. I've been coming here for months now, and the consistency is what keeps me coming back—the baristas actually know how to pull a proper shot, and the latte art is clean without being showy.
The menu is simple but executed well. The ham and cheese croissant is a standout, flaky and generously filled, and the quiche is another solid choice if you're hungry. They also do a nice range of homemade pastries that change with the season. It's not a place to linger for hours with a laptop (the tables are small), but it's perfect for a quick, quality coffee break or a light bite before heading out.

Kuro est exactement ce dont Bordeaux a besoin : un bar à espresso qui prend son café au sérieux sans aucune prétention. L'espace est petit et intime, caché derrière le Grand Hotel, donc vous n'aurez pas à subir la foule de touristes. Je viens ici depuis plusieurs mois, et c'est la régularité qui me ramène : les baristas savent vraiment extraire un bon shot, et le latte art est propre sans être ostentatoire.
La carte est simple mais bien exécutée. Le croissant jambon-fromage est une pépite, feuilleté et généreusement garni, et la quiche est un autre bon choix si vous avez faim. Ils proposent aussi une belle sélection de pâtisseries maison qui changent selon les saisons. Ce n'est pas l'endroit idéal pour traîner des heures avec un ordinateur (les tables sont petites), mais c'est parfait pour une pause café de qualité ou un petit repas avant de sortir.
