L'ambiance

Tucked away in a basement on Týn Street, Green Devil's is Prague's dedicated absinthe garage—a two-level experience that leans hard into the drink's dark history. The upper floor is an industrial-style bar with a laid-back vibe, while the spooky cellar below feels like stepping into an apothecary from a gothic novel. They serve absinthe the traditional Czech and French ways, but the real draw is their guided tasting with Absinthe Tasting Prague, where you can sample 10 varieties and actually learn what makes each one tick.

Absinthe education with a spooky twist

Green Devil's is exactly what it sounds like: a place to dive deep into absinthe culture, whether you're a seasoned drinker or just curious. The industrial upper bar is fun and unpretentious, but the real magic happens in the cellar—dimly lit, lined with bottles, and perfect for a guided tasting. You'll walk away knowing more about the spirit than you probably wanted to, which is a win in my book.

It's definitely tourist-focused, but that's not a bad thing here. The staff are knowledgeable and the tasting experience is well-organized. Just don't expect a quiet neighborhood spot—this is a destination for people who want to learn about absinthe in a theatrical setting. If you're looking for something more local or low-key, keep walking.
