A neighbourhood gem with seasonal soul

Café Saint Honoré has carved out a nice niche in Edinburgh's competitive dining scene. What I appreciate most is their commitment to seasonal cooking - the menu actually changes regularly to reflect what's available, rather than being stuck with the same dishes year-round. The food is solid without trying too hard, and the portions are generous enough to leave you satisfied without feeling stuffed.

The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighbourhood café - warm, welcoming, and never pretentious. You'll find a mix of regulars and newcomers, which is always a good sign. Service is friendly and efficient, and the wine selection pairs well with their dishes. It's not the fanciest place in town, but that's precisely why locals keep coming back.

My recommendation? Skip the touristy spots on Royal Mile and head to Thistle Street instead. Come for lunch on a weekday when it's quieter, or book one of their wine dinners if you want to try something special. It's the kind of place that reminds you why you love Edinburgh's food scene.
