Café du Port has earned its spot as a Bordeaux institution, and for good reason. The location is unbeatable—sitting right on the Garonne in a converted warehouse gives you that authentic port atmosphere without feeling too touristy. The oysters are consistently fresh, and I always save room for their Baba au rhum, which is a proper finish to the meal.
The service is warm and efficient, though the place can get quite loud when the terrace is packed, especially on weekends. It's not the most refined dining experience, but that's part of the charm. You come here for the views, the generous portions, and the feeling of being right in the heart of Bordeaux's working river.

Le Café du Port s'est imposé comme une valeur sûre de Bordeaux, et ce n'est pas pour rien. L'emplacement est exceptionnel : installé sur les quais de la Garonne dans un ancien hangar à bateaux, on profite d'une vue imprenable sur le Pont de Pierre tout en étant au cœur de l'animation portuaire. Les huîtres du bassin sont fraîches et le Baba au rhum est une fin de repas qui fait toujours plaisir.
Le service est convivial et efficace, même si l'endroit peut devenir bruyant quand la terrasse est pleine, surtout le week-end. Ce n'est pas l'expérience la plus raffinée, mais c'est tout à fait dans l'esprit du lieu. On vient pour la vue, les portions généreuses et cette sensation d'être au cœur de la vie fluviale bordelaise.
