Bright, local café with serious coffee
Toki has been a steady favorite in the Jordaan since 2015, and for good reason. The space itself is a winner—two long, narrow rooms connected by open doorways, with picture windows on both Binnen Dommersstraat and Vinkenstraat that flood the place with natural light. You can watch your espresso being pulled at the La Marzocco machine, or grab a seat at the pour-over bar to see the Kalita Wave magic happen. The coffee program is serious: single-origin espresso that changes weekly, plus three rotating single-origins on pour-over from Bonanza in Berlin. If you're not in the mood for coffee, there's loose-leaf tea, cold drinks, and a well-stocked beer fridge.
The food situation is simple but solid—brunch service runs Wednesdays through Fridays from 8am to 4pm, and weekends 9am to 4pm. Daily cakes are a draw, and there's a communal table if you want to spread out or meet someone. It's not fancy, but it's honest, well-executed coffee in a space that feels genuinely local. The only real downside is that it's cashless, so come prepared with a card.

Toki est un de ces cafés qui ont su rester fidèles à leur identité depuis leur ouverture en 2015. Situé au carrefour de la Vinkenstraat et de la Binnen Dommersstraat, l'espace se déploie sur deux pièces étroites reliées par des ouvertures, avec de grandes fenêtres qui laissent entrer une lumière naturelle exceptionnelle. On peut observer le barista préparer son espresso sur la machine La Marzocco, ou s'installer au comptoir pour voir le Kalita Wave en action. Le café est de qualité : espresso en single-origin qui change chaque semaine, et trois origines uniques à la carte pour le filtre, toutes provenant de Bonanza à Berlin.
Pour manger, c'est simple mais efficace : brunch du mercredi au vendredi de 8h à 16h, et le week-end de 9h à 16h. Les gâteaux du jour sont une valeur sûre, et il y a une grande table commune parfaite pour travailler ou discuter. L'ambiance est détendue, locale, loin des sentiers battus des touristes. Seul bémol : pas de cash, il faut avoir sa carte bancaire. Mais c'est un vrai plaisir de s'installer ici pour un café de qualité dans un cadre lumineux et accueillant.
