The Wheatsheaf is exactly what you want from a South London pub: unpretentious, well-run, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between lively and relaxed—you can chat with locals over a pint or settle in for a proper meal without feeling rushed. The Sunday roast is the star here; they clearly put effort into sourcing quality ingredients and cooking it right, with crispy roast potatoes that actually stay crispy.
The beer selection leans heavily into craft, which is refreshing for a neighborhood pub. They've got a good rotation of local brews alongside the classics, and the staff seem to actually know what they're talking about when you ask for recommendations.
