A Kentish Town staple with great food and vibes
The Vine is the kind of place that feels like it’s always been part of the neighborhood, even if it’s been through a few revamps over the years. It’s got that rare London pub balance of being lively without being chaotic, and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. The cicchetti-style sharing plates are a real highlight—think melty gnocchi, tangy artichokes, and that polenta dish that somehow manages to be both comforting and exciting. The garden is a rare find in NW5, and on a sunny day, it’s the perfect spot to nurse a pint while people-watching.
The atmosphere is unpretentious but polished, with exposed brick, neon signs, and a shuffleboard table that’s always in use. It’s not the quietest spot in town, but that’s part of the charm—you’re here to hang out, not whisper. The wine list is chalked-up and approachable, and the specials (like the £5 wings on Wednesdays) are worth planning your week around. Il a ce rare équilibre londonien entre animé et pas trop bruyant, et le personnel semble vraiment apprêter ce qu’il fait. Les plats à partager style cicchetti sont un vrai plaisir—pensez gnocchi fondants, artichauts acidulés, et cette polenta qui arrive à être à la fois réconfortante et excitante. Le jardin est une rareté à NW5, et par une journée ensoleillée, c’est l’endroit idéal pour siroter un pint en observant les passants.

Ce n’est pas l’endroit le plus calme du quartier, mais c’est justement ce qui fait son charme—on vient pour se détendre, pas pour chuchoter.
