The Thai food is genuinely good, not just pub food with curry powder sprinkled on it; you’ll find proper balance of spicy, sour, sweet, and salty flavors that feel authentic. The staff are friendly and clearly enjoy what they do, which makes a big difference when you’re trying to relax after work or grab a bite with friends.
It’s not perfect—service can slow down when it’s busy, and the space is split across three bars which might feel a bit disconnected if you’re not used to it. But honestly, that’s a minor quibble. Le Forester est ce genre de pub que les habitants adorent vraiment, et pour cause. La récente rénovation a insufflé une nouvelle vie à ce bâtiment classé de 1909 sans en effacer le caractère : on garde cette chaleur accueillante typique des vieux pubs, avec juste un peu plus de lumière et une ambiance plus fraîche. La cuisine thaïlandaise est vraiment bonne, pas juste de la nourriture de pub avec du curry en poudre : vous y trouverez un vrai équilibre entre épicé, acide, sucré et salé, avec une authenticité qui fait la différence. Le personnel est sympathique et semble apprécier son travail, ce qui change vraiment quand on cherche à se détendre après le travail ou à dîner entre amis.
Ce n’est pas parfait — le service peut ralentir quand c’est bondé, et l’espace est divisé en trois bars, ce qui peut sembler un peu déconnecté si on n’est pas habitué. Mais c’est un détail mineur. Le feu réel ajoute à l’ambiance cozy, et le jardin est un véritable bijou à découvrir quand il fait plus chaud.
