The Florence
“Matches your preference for quiet, immersive environments. This venue's atmosphere aligns with your saved favorites.”
L'ambiance
The Florence is the kind of Herne Hill pub that feels like it's been part of the neighborhood forever—a grand old dame with a big heart and an even bigger beer garden. You'll find yourself drawn to its lively atmosphere, whether you're catching a rugby match on screen, enjoying one of their legendary Sunday roasts, or just chilling with a pint in the garden (which is genuinely one of the best in South London). The new Prix Fixe menu is a solid value for lunch, and if you're into wings, Wing Wednesday is a no-brainer.

A Herne Hill Institution with a Fantastic Garden
The Florence has that rare pub quality where it feels like a proper neighborhood institution without losing its charm. The space is genuinely impressive—large, light, and airy with a central island bar that makes it easy to meet people or just grab a quick drink. The beer garden is the real star though; it's spacious, well-kept, and perfect for those long summer evenings when you want to stretch out with friends.
Food-wise, they're doing solid modern British pub fare with a focus on seasonal ingredients. The Sunday roast is consistently good and always busy (book ahead if you can). The new Prix Fixe menu is a smart addition for lunch—two courses for £18 is hard to beat. The wings on Wednesday are also a local favorite and great value.
It's not perfect—the place can get quite loud when there's a big game on, and service can slow down during peak times. But for a relaxed, unpretentious pub experience with great outdoor space and a real local feel, The Florence is hard to beat in Herne Hill.
