A proper local pub with a massive garden
The Drayton Court is the kind of place you’ll find yourself returning to without really planning to. Situated in leafy West Ealing, it’s a proper neighbourhood pub that doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than what it is: a comfortable, well-run Fuller’s establishment with a massive beer garden that’s become a local institution. The space is genuinely impressive—you can walk around the garden without feeling like you’re bumping into strangers, which is rare these days. Inside, the refurbishment has modernised the decor without stripping away the traditional pub feel, and the staff seem to know their regulars by name.
The food is straightforward but well-executed. Nothing fancy, but the Sunday roast is reliable, the bar snacks are decent, and the drinks selection leans heavily on Fuller’s own brews, which is a good thing if you’re a fan of their pale ales and stouts. It’s also a solid spot for watching sports—they’ve got TNT Sports coverage, so football and rugby fans will be happy. The only downside is that it can get quite busy on weekends, especially in the garden, so if you’re after a quiet pint, weekday afternoons are your best bet.

Le Drayton Court, c’est le genre d’endroit où l’on revient sans vraiment le prévoir. Niché dans le quartier verdoyant de West Ealing, c’est un vrai pub de quartier, une institution gérée par Fuller’s qui ne cherche pas à être plus que ce qu’il est : un établissement confortable et bien tenu avec un immense jardin de bière devenu légende locale. L’espace est vraiment impressionnant — on peut se promener dans le jardin sans se cogner aux autres, ce qui est rare de nos jours. À l’intérieur, la rénovation a modernisé le décor sans enlever le charme traditionnel du pub, et le personnel semble connaître ses habitués par leur prénom.
La cuisine est simple mais bien exécutée. Rien de bien sophistiqué, mais le rôti du dimanche est fiable, les apéros du bar sont corrects, et la sélection de boissons mise fortement sur les bières de Fuller’s, ce qui est une bonne chose si vous aimez leurs pale ales et leurs stouts. C’est aussi un bon spot pour regarder les matchs — ils ont TNT Sports, donc les fans de football et de rugby seront contents. Le seul bémol, c’est que ça peut être très fréquenté le week-end, surtout dans le jardin, donc si vous cherchez un verre tranquille, les après-midi en semaine sont votre meilleure option.
