L'ambiance
Special Guests Coffee is Marylebone's latest specialty coffee darling, nestled just off Aybrook Street near the farmers' market. The space is sleek and unpretentious, with those gleaming silver counters anchoring the room where baristas work their magic. You'll find yourself drawn to the brew bar stools—watching four pourovers run in perfect unison is actual theatre, and the baristas are happy to chat whether you're a coffee nerd or just need a solid cappuccino. What sets them apart is the rotating selection of single-origin filter coffees, including rare Panama Geshas and archived gems given a second life. Their natural Colombia Gesha is a standout when it's in the hopper, but don't sleep on the everyday options either. The piccolo with natural Ethiopian is consistently smooth and sweet, with latte art that actually lasts. It can get packed on Sunday mornings when the market is in full swing, so if you're after a quiet seat, aim for mid-week or late morning. Still, even when it's buzzing, the friendly service makes you feel like, well, a special guest.

Marylebone's new coffee destination with serious credentials
Special Guests Coffee has quickly become a favourite in Marylebone's specialty coffee scene. The space is beautifully designed with those eye-catching silver counters that give it a clean, modern feel. But it's the coffee that really shines here—especially their rotating selection of single-origin filter options. I've tried their natural Colombia Gesha and it was absolutely stunning, with those beautiful floral and blueberry notes you only get from well-handled Geshas.
The baristas are clearly passionate and knowledgeable, treating every customer with genuine warmth. Whether you're deep in the specialty coffee rabbit hole or just want a really nice cup, they'll guide you perfectly. The pourover theatre at the brew bar is worth seeking out—watching four coffees brew in unison is mesmerizing.
It can get busy, particularly on Sunday mornings when the farmers' market is nearby, so come prepared for a wait if you want a seat. But even standing at the counter, you're in for a great experience. This is the kind of place that makes you want to explore their current filter offerings every time you visit.
