Skylon is that rare Southbank spot where the location genuinely earns its keep. You walk in expecting tourist trap territory, but instead you get a competent modern British brasserie with some of the best unobstructed river views in London. The roast beef on Sunday is properly done—crispy Yorkshire, tender meat, proper gravy—and the staff seem to know what they're doing. It's not going to win any Michelin stars, but for a reliable dinner before a West End show or a family Sunday lunch with a view, it's hard to beat.
The real draw is the setting: those floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Thames and London skyline create an instant atmosphere.
