Rubis Wine Bar is exactly what Saint-Gilles needs: a place that takes wine seriously without being pretentious. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, intimate atmosphere that encourages you to stay awhile. The staff, particularly the oenologist, are genuinely passionate and happy to guide you through their impressive selection of natural and biodynamic wines. I usually go for the cheese board—it's perfectly paired with their wine list, and the private terrace is a lovely bonus for warmer evenings.
What sets Rubis apart is the genuine focus on quality over quantity. You won't find a massive list of generic options here; instead, you'll discover interesting bottles from small producers that you won't see anywhere else in Brussels. It's become my go-to spot for a quiet evening out or when I want to impress a wine-curious friend. The only downside? It can get a bit crowded on weekends, so if you want a truly relaxed experience, aim for a weekday visit.

Le Rubis Wine Bar est exactement ce dont Saint-Gilles avait besoin : un endroit qui prend le vin au sérieux sans être prétentieux. Dès que vous entrez, vous êtes accueilli par une atmosphère chaleureuse et intime qui vous incite à rester. Le personnel, en particulier l'œnologue, est vraiment passionné et ravi de vous guider à travers leur impressionnante sélection de vins naturels et biodynamiques. J'y vais souvent pour la planche de fromage, qui s'accorde parfaitement avec leur carte des vins, et la terrasse privée est un beau bonus pour les soirées plus chaudes.
Ce qui distingue le Rubis, c'est l'attention réelle portée à la qualité plutôt qu'à la quantité. Vous n'y trouverez pas une liste massive d'options génériques ; à la place, vous découvrirez des bouteilles intéressantes de petits producteurs que vous ne verrez nulle part ailleurs à Bruxelles.
