If you're in Walthamstow and craving proper Caribbean food, Rhythm Kitchen on Hoe Street is the real deal. Delroy Deroy — known locally as "The Jerkfather" — runs the show, and everything is freshly prepared on site daily. The jerk chicken is the obvious headline act: properly marinated, smoky, and with heat you can actually feel. But don't sleep on the curry goat, oxtail, or the saltfish fritters, which are crisp, golden, and moreish. Portion sizes are generous — you won't leave hungry.
What sets Rhythm Kitchen apart from your average takeaway is the rum.
