King Jan III Sobieski built this palace in the late 17th century as a summer residence, and the result is nothing short of spectacular. The architecture is a stunning blend of Italian and French influences, with ornate facades, gilded interiors, and meticulously maintained gardens that stretch out behind the palace. Inside, you’ll find state rooms filled with period furniture, tapestries, and artworks that tell the story of Poland’s royal past. The Hall of Mirrors alone is worth the visit, and the gardens are perfect for a peaceful stroll.
What I love most is how well-preserved everything feels. Unlike some museums that feel like they’ve been left to gather dust, Wilanów is cared for with evident pride. The grounds are immaculate, the interiors are vibrant, and the staff clearly knows their history. It’s not as crowded as Łazienki Park, which makes it feel more intimate and special. Le Palais de Wilanów est le joyau de Varsovie – un chef-d’œuvre baroque qui donne l’impression de voyager dans le temps. Construit à la fin du XVIIe siècle par le roi Jean III Sobieski comme résidence d’été, ce palais est tout simplement spectaculaire. L’architecture est un mélange étonnant d’influences italiennes et françaises, avec des façades ornées, des intérieurs dorés et des jardins à la française parfaitement entretenus qui s’étendent derrière le palais. À l’intérieur, vous découvrirez des salons d’apparat remplis de meubles d’époque, de tapisseries et d’œuvres d’art qui racontent l’histoire du passé royal polonais. La Salle des Glaces à elle seule vaut le détour, et les jardins sont parfaits pour une promenade tranquille.
Ce que j’adore, c’est à quel point tout semble préservé. Contrairement à certains musées qui semblent abandonnés, Wilanów est entretenu avec un orgueil évident. Les jardins sont impeccables, les intérieurs sont vivants, et le personnel maîtrise parfaitement son histoire. Ce n’est pas aussi bondé que le parc Łazienki, ce qui le rend plus intime et spécial. Si vous êtes à Varsovie et que vous avez quelques heures à consacrer, c’est une visite incontournable. Préparez-vous simplement à passer au moins une demi-journée – vous voudrez tout apprécier.
