You walk in and immediately feel the difference—it's not trying to be trendy or hip, it's just a proper pub where everyone from students to locals in their 50s share the same space. The beer selection is genuinely impressive for a pub this size, with 20 taps and over 35 bottled options. Don't skip the burger and loaded fries combo if you're hungry; it's legitimately one of the better pub meals I've had in Lyon.
What really sets it apart is the atmosphere. The terrace facing Place des Tapis is perfect for summer evenings, and inside it's warm and welcoming without feeling cramped. The staff actually remembers regulars, which is rare these days. Live music on Thursdays draws a great crowd, and if you're into it, the pub quiz is a fun way to spend a Tuesday night. It's not fancy, but it's authentic in a way that's becoming harder to find.
My only minor critique is that it can get quite loud on busy nights, so if you're looking for a quiet conversation spot, maybe skip the weekend evenings. But that's part of the charm—it's a place where you come to be part of something, not just to have a drink.

La sélection de bières est vraiment impressionnante pour un établissement de cette taille, avec 20 tireuses et plus de 35 bouteilles. Ne manquez pas le burger avec frites chargées si vous avez faim ; c'est franchement l'un des meilleurs repas de pub que j'ai goûtés à Lyon.
Ce qui le distingue vraiment, c'est l'ambiance. La terrasse face à la Place des Tapis est parfaite pour les soirées d'été, et à l'intérieur c'est chaleureux et accueillant sans être exigu. Le personnel se souvient même des habitués, ce qui est rare de nos jours. La musique live le jeudi attire une bonne foule, et si ça vous tente, le pub quiz est un moyen amusant de passer une soirée de mardi. Ce n'est pas raffiné, mais c'est authentique d'une manière qui devient de plus en plus difficile à trouver.
Mon seul petit reproche, c'est que ça peut être très bruyant les soirs de pointe, donc si vous cherchez un endroit tranquille pour discuter, évitez les week-ends. Mais c'est aussi ça qui fait son charme : on vient pour faire partie de quelque chose, pas juste pour boire un verre.
