New Haw Social Club is the kind of place you'll come back to when you want a no-fuss night out with mates. The lounge bar is comfortable, not flashy, and you'll always find locals chatting over a drink. On Thursdays, bingo kicks off at 8pm and it's a proper affair—think friendly competition and decent prizes. Mondays bring the music quiz, which is a great way to test your knowledge while knocking back a pint.
The food here has stepped up thanks to The Gentlemen's Grills running the Social Diner. Their Sunday roasts are hearty and well-executed, served from noon to 4pm. If you're into outdoor dining, the BBQ area is a nice touch when the sun's out. Just remember to register your car on the tablets at the bar—skip that and you'll get fined.
It's not a high-end spot, and the decor is functional rather than stylish, but that's part of its charm. You're here for the atmosphere, the regulars, and the simple pleasures of a good pub night.
