MyWine Bar & Shop
“Matches your preference for quiet, immersive environments. This venue's atmosphere aligns with your saved favorites.”
L'ambiance
Tucked away on a quiet stretch of Arany János utca, MyWine is a wine bar that feels like a secret kept by locals who know their vintages. It’s small from the outside but opens up into a warm, intimate space with exposed brick, Mediterranean tiles, and velvet chairs that invite you to linger. The bar doubles as a shop, so you can grab a bottle of Tokaji Aszú or a rare Hungarian pálinka to take home—or stay and sip Tramini from Köveskál by the glass while nibbling on wild boar salami with truffles. What makes MyWine special is the passion behind it. The founders are winemakers themselves, with vineyards in Tokaj and around Lake Velence, so the selection isn’t just curated—it’s personal. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening on the mezzanine sofa or a casual after-work drink with a friend, this spot delivers with a quiet confidence that’s rare in Budapest’s wine scene. Note: The bar was temporarily closed as of early 2025, so check ahead before heading over.

A Local’s Wine Bar with Heart
MyWine is the kind of place you’d tell your wine-obsessed friend about and hope they don’t tell everyone else. It’s tucked away in the 5th district, easy to miss unless you’re looking for it, but that’s part of its charm. The space is small but thoughtfully designed, with velvet chairs, exposed brick, and Mediterranean tiles creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The mezzanine level with its large sofa is perfect for a quiet conversation over a glass of Tramini or Pinot Noir.
The wine list is where MyWine truly shines. The founders are winemakers themselves, so you’re getting selections that are not just well-chosen but deeply personal. Expect to find Hungarian gems like Tokaji Aszú from Bodrog Bormhely, Tramini from Köveskál, and light, aromatic Tabunello from 2HA. The food menu is equally thoughtful, with Hungarian wild boar salami with truffles, Slovenian dry-cured ham, and a variety of cheeses from Spain, France, and Hungary.
While the bar was temporarily closed as of early 2025, it remains a standout for those who appreciate a wine bar that takes its craft seriously without losing its warmth. If it reopens, it’s worth seeking out again.
