The duo behind it—Marlène and Guillaume—have crafted a no-nonsense wine bar where the focus is on quality over pretension. A Local's Favorite for Natural Wines

Maguie is exactly the kind of neighborhood wine bar Brussels needs more of: unpretentious, welcoming, and focused on quality without the fuss. The space itself is striking, with that cobalt-blue facade and the black-tiled exterior that catches the eye, but it's the interior that wins you over—the granite counter, the hanging sausages, and the barrels of natural wine create an atmosphere that feels both curated and lived-in. You'll find a rotating selection of funky naturals, from Piak's Cabernet Franc to Philippe Maurer's Funky Town Pinot Blanc, all poured with care by a team that clearly knows their stuff.

What sets Maguie apart is the value proposition. While bottled naturals hover around €35-40, they offer wine by the barrel at €25, which is a steal for the quality. The food menu is intentionally small—houmous maison, rillettes de maquereau, Tomme de Rouffigny—but each plate is generous and pairs beautifully with the wines. Don't skip the six oysters from Père Gus at €12; they're fresh, simple, and perfectly matched to a crisp white. It's not a full restaurant, but it's exactly what an aperitivo spot should be: a place where you can stay for hours, chat, sip, and nibble without breaking the bank.

Maguie, c'est le genre de bar à vin de quartier que Bruxelles adore avoir : sans chichis, accueillant, et centré sur la qualité. La façade bleu Klein et le carrelage noir attirent l'œil, mais c'est l'intérieur qui séduit : comptoir en granit, saucissons suspendus, fûts de vin nature… l'ambiance est à la fois soignée et décontractée. Marlène et Guillaume, les deux fondateurs, servent avec le cœur une sélection de vins vivants, du Cabernet Franc Piak au Pinot Blanc Funky Town de Philippe Maurer, tous versés avec soin.

Ce qui fait la force de Maguie, c'est le rapport qualité-prix. Les bouteilles de naturals tournent autour de 35-40€, mais le vin au fût à 25€ est une véritable aubaine. La carte est volontairement courte : houmous maison, rillettes de maquereau, Tomme de Rouffigny… chaque assiette est généreuse et s'accorde parfaitement avec le vin. Ne manquez pas les six huîtres du Père Gus à 12€, fraîches et simplement dressées. Ce n'est pas un restaurant complet, mais c'est exactement ce qu'un bar à vin devrait être : un endroit où l'on peut rester des heures, discuter, boire et grignoter sans se ruiner.
