Solid specialty coffee, quick and friendly
Luuk's Coffee on Vijzelgracht delivers some of the most consistently good specialty coffee in Amsterdam's Oude Pijp neighborhood. The baristas clearly know their craft—every flat white comes out with smooth, velvety foam and a rich, sweet flavor that's perfectly balanced. Their House Blend is the daily driver, but don't sleep on the seasonal Strawberry Noir if you're feeling adventurous; it's got those vibrant strawberry and cacao notes with a vanilla finish that lingers nicely.
The space itself is small and utilitarian with no seating, which means it's purely a grab-and-go operation. That said, the friendly staff who speak both Dutch and English make you feel welcome, and the coffee quality more than makes up for the lack of a place to sit. It's become my regular stop before work—quick, reliable, and honestly one of the better cups of coffee you'll find in the city.
If you're looking for a spot to linger with a laptop or have a long chat, this isn't it. But for solid, well-crafted coffee that doesn't try too hard, Luuk's is a solid choice that locals actually use.

Luuk's Coffee sur la Vijzelgracht propose l'un des meilleurs cafés de spécialité du quartier Oude Pijp, sans aucune prétention. Les baristas maîtrisent parfaitement leur métier : chaque flat white est servi avec une mousse onctueuse et un goût riche et équilibré. Le House Blend est leur valeur sûre au quotidien, mais n'hésitez pas à essayer le Strawberry Noir de saison si vous avez envie d'une expérience plus originale—des notes de fraise et de cacao avec une touche de vanille en fin de bouche.
L'espace est petit et fonctionnel, sans place assise, ce qui en fait essentiellement un point de vente à emporter. Néanmoins, le personnel sympathique qui parle néerlandais et anglais vous met immédiatement à l'aise, et la qualité du café compense largement l'absence de place pour s'installer. C'est devenu mon arrêt habituel avant le travail—rapide, fiable et honnêtement, l'une des meilleures tasses de café que vous trouverez dans la ville.
Si vous cherchez un endroit pour traîner avec un ordinateur ou discuter longuement, ce n'est pas l'endroit idéal. Mais pour un café bien préparé qui ne se prend pas au sérieux, Luuk's est un choix solide que les locaux fréquentent vraiment.
