A Converted Church with a Motorcycle Workshop?

Le Live Bar is a true Nantes original—a converted church that somehow manages to feel both historic and refreshingly modern. The standout feature is undoubtedly the working motorcycle workshop tucked into the corner; there's something wonderfully unexpected about ordering a beer and watching someone wrench on a bike while you people-watch. The atmosphere is generally relaxed during the day, but it really comes alive in the evenings with live music, open mic nights, and their impressive karaoke setup that boasts over 20,000 songs.

The drinks are solid—expect standard bar fare with decent craft beer options and cocktails around 7-8 euros. The real draw here is the vibe and the uniqueness of the space rather than gourmet food (they don't really do full meals). It's become a go-to spot for locals who want somewhere different, and the regular events calendar means there's always something happening. If you're looking for a place that feels authentically Nantaise rather than touristy, this is it.
