London's Best Micropub: A Beer Lover's Paradise
Little Green Dragon is a masterclass in what a micropub should be. This tiny spot at the top of Green Lanes has earned its reputation as CAMRA's London Pub of the Year for good reason. The beer selection is exceptional, with a constantly rotating board of guest ales and ciders that keeps things interesting. Our visit featured Burning Sky's Aurora, which was perfectly poured and beautifully balanced. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a mix of regulars and curious newcomers all sharing the same space.
What really sets this place apart is the community feel. The landlord is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to chat about the beers or recommend something new. The bar games—shove ha'penny and table skittles—add a fun, interactive element that breaks the ice. Live music sessions from local musicians happen regularly, creating a vibrant, ever-changing energy. The snacks are simple but effective (pickled eggs and Mr Singh's crisps are legendary), and the dragon-themed decor adds just the right amount of whimsy without being over the top.
The only downside? It's a bit of a trek from central London, but that's arguably part of its charm. This isn't a place you stumble upon accidentally—it's a destination for beer lovers who want to experience something special. The fact that it takes 90 minutes on public transport to get here means you're more likely to make a proper night of it when you do arrive.

Le Little Green Dragon est un parfait exemple de ce qu'un micropub peut offrir. Ce petit établissement situé au sommet de Green Lanes a mérité son titre de Pub de l'Année à Londres par la CAMRA en 2024 pour de bonnes raisons. La sélection de bières est exceptionnelle, avec un tableau en rotation constante de bières en fût et de cidres qui garde les choses intéressantes. Notre visite a mis en valeur l'Aurora de Burning Sky, parfaitement servie et équilibrée.
L'ambiance est chaleureuse et accueillante, avec un mélange de habitués et de nouveaux curieux partageant le même espace. Ce qui distingue vraiment cet endroit, c'est le sentiment communautaire. Le gérant est extrêmement amical et compétent, toujours prêt à discuter des bières ou à recommander quelque chose de nouveau. Les jeux de bar—shove ha'penny et quilles sur table—ajoutent une touche ludique et interactive qui brise la glace. Des sessions de musique live par des musiciens locaux ont lieu régulièrement, créant une énergie vibrante et en constante évolution.
Le seul bémol ? C'est un peu loin du centre de Londres, mais c'est peut-être partie intégrante de son charme. Ce n'est pas un endroit qu'on croise par hasard—c'est une destination pour les amateurs de bière qui veulent vivre quelque chose de spécial. Le fait qu'il faille 90 minutes en transports en commun pour y arriver signifie que vous êtes plus susceptible de faire une véritable soirée quand vous arrivez enfin.
