Sartoria Launceston Place feels like Kensington's answer to Milan's finest tailoring houses—sophisticated but not stuffy. The interior design cleverly nods to the craft with framed seamster workshop photos and occasional tailor's dummies on pedestals, creating a space that's both stylish and comfortable. We landed on a corner table on a damp Thursday evening and spent the night watching the well-heeled Kensington set roll by, including at least one poodle in a carry cot, which felt appropriately quintessential for the area.
The food lives up to the setting. The beef tartare was a standout—generous portion with wonderfully fresh ingredients and that olive oil-infused sourdough that made every bite sing. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the all-day menu means you can pop in for anything from a quick coffee to a proper dinner. It's not quite the revolutionary dining experience of the Michelin-starred predecessor, but it's a solid addition to the neighborhood that feels genuinely local rather than touristy.

Sartoria Launceston Place s'inscrit parfaitement dans le charme discret de Kensington. L'intérieur, inspiré par l'art de la tailleur, affiche des photos d'ateliers de couture et quelques mannequins de tailleur, créant une ambiance raffinée mais accueillante. Nous avons eu la chance d'être installés à une table d'angle un jeudi soir pluvieux et avons passé la soirée à observer les habitants bien habillés du quartier, y compris un poodle dans sa poussette, ce qui est tout à fait typique de la région.
La cuisine italienne est soignée et fidèle à l'esprit milanais. Le tartare de bœuf, servi avec son pain au levain infusé à l'huile d'olive, était exceptionnel.
