Tucked right in front of the Coliseu, Lado B has earned a cult following for serving what locals swear is the best francesinha in the city. It’s a beer hall by day, café by night, with a modern, music-inspired vibe that keeps things lively without feeling pretentious. The portions are generous, the prices are fair for the location, and the staff genuinely seem to enjoy what they do.
Best Francesinha in the City
Lado B is the kind of place you find when a local tells you to skip the tourist traps and just eat where they eat. The francesinha here is genuinely excellent—thick-cut meats, melted cheese, and that rich, savory gravy that you can order extra of for free (ask for it). They also do a standout vegetarian version that doesn’t feel like an afterthought, just as hearty and flavorful. The space itself is modern and a bit loud, with music-themed decor that gives it character without being too trendy. Service is quick and friendly, which you appreciate when you’re hungry and the line is out the door.
