A theatrical Italian feast in Kensington
Jacuzzi is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Roman fantasy, and honestly, that’s exactly what it is. Big Mamma has really outdone themselves with the design—four floors of opulence, complete with statues, Murano glass, and lighting that makes every corner Instagram-ready. The menu reflects this theatricality with dishes that are both authentic and playful: the burrata from Puglia is creamy perfection, and the crispy croquettes with slow-cooked pulled veal are a must-order to start. But the star is undoubtedly the pasta. Their handmade varieties, especially the mafaldine with fresh truffle, are worth the trip alone.
Service is generally warm and efficient, though it can get a bit chaotic during peak times given the sheer scale of the place. The Tiramisù with a touch of Marsala is a brilliant finish, best paired with an espresso martini if you’re feeling indulgent. Jacuzzi, c’est l’endroit où l’Italie rencontre le théâtre à Londres. Big Mamma a créé ici un véritable palais italien en quatre niveaux, avec ses statues romaines, son verre de Murano et une ambiance qui vous transporte immédiatement. On s’y sent comme dans un film, et c’est exactement ce qu’on veut quand on sort pour se faire plaisir. La carte est à la hauteur du décor : les burrata de Pouille sont d’une onctuosité incroyable, les croquettes croustillantes au veau effiloché sont un excellent début, mais il faut absolument goûter les pâtes fraîches, surtout la mafaldine au truffe fraîche, un vrai moment de révélation.
Le service est généralement chaleureux, même si l’endroit peut devenir un peu bruyant aux heures de pointe, ce qui est compréhensible au vu de sa taille. Le tiramisu à la Marsala est une fin de repas parfaite, à accompagner d’un espresso martini si vous voulez aller jusqu’au bout du plaisir. Les prix sont un peu plus élevés que la moyenne, mais vous payez pour l’expérience autant que pour la nourriture. Si vous cherchez un endroit mémorable à Kensington, surtout après une visite au musée ou pour célébrer quelque chose, Jacuzzi offre à la fois le spectacle et les saveurs qu’il faut.
