A Local Favorite with Genuine Warmth
HR's Cafe House has become my go-to spot in Hornchurch since it reopened after renovations. The atmosphere is genuinely welcoming – you're greeted with a smile and treated like a regular, not just another customer. The menu is impressively broad for a neighborhood café, offering everything from classic breakfast plates to Mediterranean and Turkish-inspired dishes that you won't find at most local spots.
The standout is definitely the signature Nutella and Coffee milkshake – rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. I've had their all-day breakfast several times and it's consistently good quality with fresh ingredients. The jacket potato is apparently legendary among regulars, and I can see why it's become a talking point. Service is quick without being rushed, and the staff clearly take pride in what they do.

HR's Cafe House est devenu mon repère habituel à Hornchurch depuis sa réouverture après les rénovations. L'ambiance est vraiment accueillante – on vous reçoit avec un sourire et on vous traite comme un habitué, pas comme un client de passage. La carte est étonnamment vaste pour un café de quartier, proposant tout de classiques petits-déjeuners à des plats inspirés de la Méditerranée et de la Turquie qu'on ne trouve pas ailleurs dans le coin.
Le point fort, c'est sans conteste le milkshake signature Nutella et Café – onctueux, crémeux et parfaitement équilibré. J'ai pris leur petit-déjeuner toute la journée à plusieurs reprises et c'est toujours de bonne qualité avec des ingrédients frais. La patate douce au four est apparemment légendaire parmi les habitués, et je comprends pourquoi c'est devenu un sujet de conversation. Le service est rapide sans être précipité, et le personnel semble vraiment fier de ce qu'il fait.
Ce n'est pas un café de destination, mais c'est précisément tout son charme. C'est le genre d'endroit où vous vous retrouverez à revenir régulièrement parce que vous savez exactement à quoi vous attendre : bonne nourriture, visages amicaux et un espace confortable pour se détendre. Parfait pour un petit-déjeuner ou un déjeuner tranquille sans la prétention des endroits plus tendances.
