L'ambiance
Tucked away on Breite Straße in Spandau's pedestrian zone, Hasir brings over 50 years of Turkish grilling tradition to this corner of Berlin. You'll find authentic kebabs, tender lamb skewers, and their famous İskender served with the kind of care that only comes from a family-run operation since 1970. The outdoor terrace is perfect for sunny lunches when you want to people-watch while enjoying proper Turkish coffee or ayran. The menu stays true to its roots with classics like Adana kebab, lamb shish, and their signature pide boats filled with spiced minced meat. It's not fancy by any means, but what you get is consistent, flavorful food at reasonable prices in a neighborhood setting that feels more like a local institution than a tourist trap.

Authentic Turkish grilling in Spandau
Hasir Spandau is that rare find—a Turkish restaurant that's clearly loved by locals rather than just tourists. The İskender Kebap Teller is a standout, with tender vertical spit lamb served over bread and topped with yogurt and tomato sauce, though you'll want to arrive early as the terrace fills up quickly on nice days. The menu is straightforward and doesn't try to be anything it's not: solid grilled meats, proper mezze, and desserts that won't break the bank.
What I appreciate most is the consistency. I've been coming here for years and the quality hasn't wavered. The lamb skewers are always properly seasoned, the rice is fluffy, and the staff treats you like a regular even if it's your first visit. It's not the most atmospheric spot in Berlin, but for authentic Turkish cuisine in Spandau without the pretension, it's hard to beat. Skip the fancy restaurants in Mitte and come here for real food.
