De Haus has carved out a solid niche in Brussels' gin scene, and for good reason. The bartenders here actually know their stuff—they'll spend time chatting with you about different gins and help you find something that matches your taste. The space feels big enough to not feel cramped but still maintains that intimate, homey atmosphere that makes you want to stay for a few rounds. The free peanuts are a nice touch, and the music strikes a good balance between being present and not overwhelming conversation.
That said, it's not perfect. The portions on the menu are genuinely small for the price point, and I've heard complaints about service feeling rushed when it's packed. The toilets have also gotten some negative mentions from visitors. But if you're coming specifically for the gin experience and don't mind paying a premium for quality, you'll leave satisfied. Just go during off-peak hours if you want to actually find a seat and have a real conversation with the staff.

De Haus s'est imposé comme une référence dans la scène gin de Bruxelles, et ce n'est pas pour rien. Les barmanne ici connaissent vraiment leur métier : ils prennent le temps de discuter avec vous sur les différentes gins et vous aident à trouver celle qui correspond à votre goût. L'espace est assez grand pour ne pas se sentir à l'étroit tout en conservant cette atmosphère intime et chaleureuse qui donne envie de rester pour quelques verres. Les cacahuètes gratuites sont une bonne touche, et la musique trouve un bon équilibre entre être présente et ne pas étouffer la conversation.
Cela dit, ce n'est pas parfait. Les portions du menu sont vraiment petites pour le prix, et j'ai entendu des plaintes sur un service qui semble pressé quand c'est bondé. Les toilettes ont aussi reçu des critiques négatives de la part des visiteurs. Mais si vous venez spécifiquement pour l'expérience gin et que vous n'avez pas d'objection à payer un premium pour la qualité, vous repartirez satisfait. Allez plutôt aux heures creuses si vous voulez vraiment trouver une place et avoir une vraie conversation avec le personnel.
