Coffee Twins is your go-to spot for serious specialty coffee in Ludwigsvorstadt, where you'll find house blends rotating between Brazil and Ethiopia, plus pour-overs that actually showcase the bean's character. Their Dinkel-Focaccia—baked with spelt flour from Meir-Mühle and topped with local cheese and prosciutto—is a game-changer for a morning pick-me-up, and everything from their croissants to cinnamon knots is made in-house with zero additives. It's not flashy, but if you're after honest coffee and bread that respects its ingredients, this is the place to linger.

Serious coffee, honest bread

Coffee Twins feels like the kind of place a local would whisper about—it's not trying to be Instagram-famous, just really good at what it does. The coffee is where they shine: their rotating house blends are carefully sourced, and the baristas actually know how to pull a proper shot or brew a clean pour-over. I've had their Brazil/Äthiopien blend on a Tuesday morning and it was bright without being acidic, with notes that actually lingered. The Dinkel-Focaccia is the star of the bakery menu—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with local cheese and prosciutto. Even their plain croissants feel more substantial than most places' fancy pastries.

The space itself is unpretentious, with warm lighting and enough room to spread out without feeling rushed. It's not the loudest spot in Ludwigsvorstadt, which makes it perfect for catching up on emails or just people-watching over a slow coffee. You won't find flashy decor or trendy cocktails here, but you will find people who clearly know their coffee and aren't afraid to ask questions. If you're the type who cares more about the bean's origin than the latte art, this is your spot.
