L'ambiance

Capote y Toros is the livelier, boozier younger sibling to the grown-up Cambio de Tercio next door, and honestly, we love that about it. You'll walk into a room that feels like an Andalusian party with its pink and yellow walls, bullfighting pictures, and those iconic swinging hams. It's the kind of place where you grab a seat at the bar or under those barrel ends, order a bottle of sherry from their impressive 125-strong list, and let the flamenco soundtrack do the rest of the work. The menu plays it safe in the best way possible—think classic tapas done right. The Spanish omelette with chorizo is a must-order, and don't skip the homemade cod sausage with Padrón peppers. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the atmosphere and the service make it worth every penny for a night out with friends or a date that needs some spice.

Lively Spanish Tapas with Real Character

Capote y Toros is exactly what you want from a Spanish tapas spot in South Kensington—energetic, authentic, and unapologetically loud. The moment you walk in, you're hit with that Andalusian vibe: pink and yellow walls, bullfighting art, and those glorious swinging hams that make you feel like you've been transported straight to Seville. It's the younger, louder sibling to Cambio de Tercio next door, and we're here for it.

The food is solidly classic—nothing too experimental, which is refreshing. The Spanish omelette with chorizo is a standout, and the homemade cod sausage with Padrón peppers is a dish you'll want to order twice. The sherry list is seriously impressive, and the staff will happily guide you through it even if you think you don't like sherry (trust us, they know what they're doing). It's a bit pricey, but the atmosphere and the quality make it worth it for a night out with friends or a date that needs some extra flair.

Just be prepared to book ahead, especially on Fridays when they often have live flamenco. It gets packed, so come early if you want a table, or embrace the bar scene and order a bottle to share. This is the kind of place you'll find yourself recommending to friends who want real Spanish vibes without the tourist trap feel.
