Café Winok has quietly become one of Schaerbeek’s best-kept secrets for serious coffee lovers. The space itself is a breath of fresh air—bright, modern, and filled with natural light from the large windows and terrace. You’ll find locals sitting with laptops, baristas explaining the origin story of their Burundi filter, and the smell of freshly roasted beans drifting through the air. It’s the kind of place where coffee isn’t just a drink; it’s the whole point.
The menu is straightforward but executed well: espresso, filter coffee, and a rotating selection of single origins that change based on what’s in season. They also do vegan brunch on weekends (think empanadas and cakes that actually taste good), and their beer and wine list is small but thoughtful. The terrace is a real winner in summer—perfect for people-watching while sipping a cappuccino.
It’s not perfect. The prices are a bit steep for what you get (two empanadas and a salad for €13.50? Really?), and the vegan options on weekdays are limited. But if you’re after quality coffee and a relaxed vibe away from the tourist crowds, Winok delivers.

Café Winok est devenu, sans faire de bruit, l’un des meilleurs endroits pour les amateurs de café de Schaerbeek. L’espace est lumineux et moderne, avec de grandes fenêtres et une terrasse qui laisse entrer la lumière naturelle. On y croise des locaux avec leurs ordinateurs, des baristas qui vous expliquent l’histoire du café du Burundi, et l’odeur de grains torréfiés à la minute. Ici, le café n’est pas juste une boisson, c’est toute l’expérience.
La carte est simple mais bien exécutée : espresso, café filtre et une sélection de single origins qui changent selon la saison. Ils proposent aussi un brunch vegan le week-end (empanadas et gâteaux qui ont vraiment du goût), et leur sélection de bières et vins est petite mais réfléchie. La terrasse est un vrai atout en été—parfaite pour observer la vie tout en sirotant un cappuccino.
Ce n’est pas parfait. Les prix sont un peu élevés pour ce que l’on obtient (deux empanadas et une salade à 13,50 € ? Sérieusement ?), et les options vegan en semaine sont limitées. Mais si vous cherchez un café de qualité et une ambiance détendue loin des foules touristiques, Winok tient ses promesses.
