My Favorite Munich Coffee Spot
Bean Batter has quietly become one of Munich’s most beloved neighborhood cafés, and for good reason. The space strikes that rare balance between welcoming and functional—think soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a steady hum of conversation that never gets too loud. I’ve spent entire afternoons here with my laptop, sipping on their standout oat milk flat whites, which are creamy, well-balanced, and consistently excellent. The staff are always friendly and never rush you, even when it’s busy.
While the café once gained fame for its inventive waffles, they’ve recently updated their menu, which left some regulars (myself included) in mild shock. I haven’t had a chance to try the new offerings yet, but the coffee alone makes it worth a visit. In summer, the outdoor seating is a hidden gem—just enough sun to feel like you’re on vacation, without the tourist crowds. It’s one of those places that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood, not the guidebooks.

Bean Batter est devenu l’un des cafés de quartier les plus appréciés de Munich, et pour cause. L’endroit réussit ce rare équilibre entre convivialité et fonctionnalité : une lumière douce, des sièges confortables et un murmure de conversations qui reste toujours agréable. J’y ai passé de longues après-midi avec mon ordinateur portable, sirotant leurs excellents flat whites au lait d’avoine, onctueux et parfaitement équilibrés. Le personnel est toujours souriant et ne vous presse jamais, même quand c’est bondé.
Bien que le café ait autrefois gagné en notoriété pour ses gaufres inventives, ils ont récemment mis à jour leur menu, ce qui a laissé certains habitués (moi y compris) un peu surpris. Je n’ai pas encore eu l’occasion de goûter les nouvelles offres, mais le café seul vaut le déplacement. En été, la terrasse extérieure est un vrai petit trésor : assez de soleil pour se sentir en vacances, sans la foule touristique. C’est l’un de ces endroits qui semble appartenir au quartier, pas aux guides touristiques.
