The Shoreditch is a fascinating contradiction that somehow works. During the early evening, it's a chic lounge where you can sit and chat over cocktails served in garish tiki mugs—the decor is a wild mix of art deco glamour and tropical kitsch with pink flamingos and taxidermy tigers adding to the quirky atmosphere. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative, with drinks like "Planet of the Apes" (rum, bananas, exotic fruits) and the massive "Studio 54" punch for groups.
As the night progresses, the venue transforms into a proper club with commercial music and a packed dance floor. The two-floor setup works well—upstairs stays lounge-y while downstairs gets rowdy. The food is decent for bar snacks, with nachos and fondue available for sharing. It's not the most sophisticated venue in Shoreditch, but it's got character and knows how to throw a party.
