Singburi 2.0 has finally made the jump from Leytonstone to Shoreditch, and it’s everything the hype promised. This isn’t your typical Thai spot—think live-fire grilling, a tight 12-dish menu, and counter seating that puts you right in the action. The wild ginger chicken thigh alone is worth the trip, but you’ll want to try everything to get the full experience.
Singburi 2.0: Shoreditch’s New Thai Hotspot
Singburi’s move from Leytonstone to Shoreditch was inevitable, and they’ve nailed the transition. The new spot in Montacute Yards feels like a natural evolution—same soul, better location. You’ll find yourself drawn to the counter seats, especially the one overlooking the live fire grill where the magic happens. The menu is refreshingly small, just 12 dishes, which means everything’s executed with care. The wild ginger chicken thigh is a standout—juicy, flavorful, and honestly, a chicken thigh shouldn’t be this good.
What I love most is the no-frills approach. No reservations, no booze license (yet), just straight-up food done right. It’s the kind of place where you’ll end up trying the entire menu if you’re with friends. The atmosphere is buzzing but not chaotic, and the staff clearly know their stuff. It’s not fancy, but it’s got personality, and that’s rare in Shoreditch these days.
