Tucked on Rue des Éperonniers near the Sablon, Lil'Bouche is the specialty coffee playground you didn't know you needed. Antoine Cornil's third spot strips away the pretension of specialty coffee while keeping the quality razor-sharp. You'll find four rotating single-origin coffees explained via a wall chart and baristas who actually want to talk you through their choices. Skip the filter coffee here—this is all about espresso-based drinks where the real magic happens.
Specialty coffee done right
Lil'Bouche is where Brussels' coffee scene goes to get serious without getting snobby. Antoine Cornil has built something special here—a place where you can walk in blind and trust the barista to guide you toward your next favorite coffee, or stay for an hour asking about extraction times and flavor notes. The menu is tight: four coffees, four profiles, and a commitment to espresso-based drinks that actually showcase what these beans can do. I've had the Luis Anibal cortado twice with oat milk and it's become my go-to, but don't sleep on the Rosado Project espresso tonic with its tropical fruit notes. The space is minimal but comfortable, the staff genuinely knows their stuff, and the prices are reasonable for specialty coffee. This is the kind of place that makes you want to become a coffee nerd.
