La Truffe Noire is Brussels' most dedicated truffle temple, operating since 1988 with a clear mission: showcase black and white truffles in every possible way. You'll find a refined, almost old-school elegance here with teal-toned decor that feels like stepping into a French maîtresse house. The menu rotates seasonally around the truffle harvest, but the classics like the carpaccio prepared tableside and the sole with black truffle sauce never disappoint. It's pricey but worth it if you're a truffle fanatic or celebrating something special.
Brussels' Truffle Temple Since 1988
La Truffe Noire has been a Brussels institution since 1988, and it shows. The restaurant is entirely devoted to truffles—both black and white—and the execution is consistently polished. The dining room, with its calming teal tones and classic French bistro-meets-maître d'hôtel aesthetic, sets the stage for a refined experience.
The menu changes with the truffle seasons, but the house specialties remain constant. The carpaccio of beef, sliced tableside, is a signature move that never fails to impress. I particularly enjoyed the sole, generously napped with aromatic black truffle, violet artichoke, and a parmesan crust—a dish that feels both nostalgic and luxurious. The service is attentive without being fussy, and the wine list complements the truffle-heavy menu well.
Prices are high, as you'd expect from a truffle temple, but the quality justifies the cost. This isn't a place for casual weeknight dining; it's for when you want to splurge on something special or impress a date. The white truffle season (October-December) is the peak time to visit, but the black truffle offerings are excellent year-round.
