Copenhagen's Champagne Paradise
Champagnekælderen is Copenhagen's answer to living in Champagne itself. You walk down into this cozy basement bar and suddenly you're surrounded by over 20 champagnes on tap and a bottle list that stretches to 800+ labels. The staff knows their stuff and will happily guide you through the selection, whether you're a champagne newbie or a seasoned collector. The food menu is simple but effective – think sardines, cuttlefish, wild boar terrine served with fresh sourdough from Torvehallerne. It's the perfect setup for a relaxed evening where the focus is truly on the bubbles.
The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a champagne bar: unpretentious, friendly, and genuinely fun. On nice days, you can borrow their beach chairs and glasses to sit outside by the lakes, watching the world go by while sipping your favorite vintage. It's not the cheapest place in town, but the quality and variety justify the price. Just be aware that they're closed on Sundays and Mondays, and they close early on Saturdays for their tastings.
