Fresh coffee, local heart
Artisan Roast’s Stockbridge spot is the kind of café that feels like it’s been there forever, even though it’s relatively new. The coffee is the real star here—roasted on-site at their Arthur’s Seat roastery, so you’re getting something genuinely fresh. I’ve had their flat white and the single-origin pour-overs, both solid, but don’t sleep on the homemade cakes; the lemon drizzle is a standout. The space is small but welcoming, with plenty of room for a laptop if you’re working, or just people-watching from a corner table. Dogs are welcome too, which is a nice touch for the neighbourhood crowd.
It’s not perfect—the Wi-Fi is a no-go, so if you’re planning to work, bring your own hotspot. And during peak hours (think Saturday mornings), it can get a bit cramped. But that’s part of the charm; it’s clearly a place locals love, and the staff clearly care about what they’re doing.
