Ace Pizza brings that perfect London hybrid – the crispy-bottomed New York slice meets Neapolitan bubble crust – to Victoria Park. This isn't your average slice joint; they're serious about their stonebaked pies and have built a cult following for their giddy, playful vibe. The fried artichokes are a standout too, surprisingly tender inside despite their tough exterior.
London-style pizza with a London heart
Ace Pizza has carved out a real niche in Victoria Park, serving up pizzas that somehow manage to be both New York-style crispy and Neapolitan-chewy. The crust is genuinely the star here – puffy, blistered, and perfectly charred. You'll find gangs of friends tearing into pies and pints on sticky summer evenings, and the simple primrose and terracotta storefront really pops. The fried artichokes are a surprising highlight too, soft inside with a tough exterior that reminds you of a 1940s gumshoe with a heart of gold.
It's not perfect – the place can get loud and crowded, especially on weekends, and service sometimes drags when the rush hits. But for a casual night out where you want quality pizza without pretension, this is hard to beat. They've been in Time Out's good books for years, and it's easy to see why. The cocktails are serious too, which adds another dimension beyond just pizza and beer.
