Real Neapolitan pizza in Josefstadt
Via Toledo is the real deal for pizza lovers in Vienna. The dough has that perfect Neapolitan char and chew, and you can tell they’re using proper Italian ingredients—mozzarella di bufala, San Marzano tomatoes, the works. It’s not fancy, but it’s honest, and the staff clearly knows their stuff when it comes to wine pairings. The space is cozy without feeling cramped, and it’s the kind of place where you’ll see regulars who’ve been coming for years.
It’s not perfect—the service can slow down during peak hours, and the menu is pretty focused on pizza and a few sides, so don’t expect a sprawling Italian feast. But for what they do, they do it well. If you’re tired of overpriced, underwhelming pizza joints in the city, skip the tourist traps and come here instead. It’s a solid 4 stars from me.

Via Toledo est une vraie pépite pour les amateurs de pizza à Vienne. La pâte a ce charbon parfait et ce moelleux typique de la Naples, et on sent qu’ils utilisent de vrais ingrédients italiens—mozzarella di bufala, tomates San Marzano, le tout. Ce n’est pas prétentieux, mais c’est honnête, et le personnel s’y connaît bien quand il s’agit de vins. L’espace est chaleureux sans être exigu, et c’est le genre d’endroit où l’on croise des habitués qui viennent depuis des années.
Ce n’est pas parfait—le service peut ralentir aux heures de pointe, et la carte se concentre surtout sur la pizza et quelques plats d’accompagnement, donc ne vous attendez pas à un festin italien démesuré. Mais pour ce qu’ils font, ils le font bien. Si vous en avez assez des pizzerias surpayées et décevantes de la ville, évitez les pièges à touristes et venez ici. Pour moi, c’est un solide 4 étoiles.
