U Flekú is a Prague institution that you basically have to visit once, even if it's more for the history than the hidden local vibe. The building itself is incredible—dating back to the 15th century with original pine rafters and a working brewhouse that's seen centuries of brewing. Their signature 13° dark lager is smooth and drinkable, though they've also started making a pale lager which is less consistent. The food is solid traditional Czech—think roasted pork knuckle, goulash with bread dumplings, and plenty of pork-based dishes. It's definitely touristy, especially during peak hours, but the atmosphere is genuine and the beer is worth the visit. Skip the expensive gift shop and just enjoy a pint in one of their eight halls.
The location in New Town makes it accessible, and if you're looking for a quintessential Prague brewery experience with history, this delivers.
