Bright, local café with serious coffee
Toki has been a steady favorite in the Jordaan since 2015, and for good reason. The space itself is a winner—two long, narrow rooms connected by open doorways, with picture windows on both Binnen Dommersstraat and Vinkenstraat that flood the place with natural light. You can watch your espresso being pulled at the La Marzocco machine, or grab a seat at the pour-over bar to see the Kalita Wave magic happen. The coffee program is serious: single-origin espresso that changes weekly, plus three rotating single-origins on pour-over from Bonanza in Berlin. If you're not in the mood for coffee, there's loose-leaf tea, cold drinks, and a well-stocked beer fridge.
The food situation is simple but solid—brunch service runs Wednesdays through Fridays from 8am to 4pm, and weekends 9am to 4pm. Daily cakes are a draw, and there's a communal table if you want to spread out or meet someone. It's not fancy, but it's honest, well-executed coffee in a space that feels genuinely local.
