Solid neighborhood coffee with real attention to detail
Three Apes Coffee has quietly become one of Raynes Park's standout spots since opening in 2022. The O'Riordan siblings have clearly put thought into everything from the Curious Roo coffee selection to the La Marzocco setup on the bar. You'll notice the difference in the cup – it's consistently well-extracted with nice clarity. The pastries from Lockdown Bakery are simple but well-executed, nothing fancy but always fresh.
The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between energetic and relaxed. Mornings tend to be busy with locals grabbing coffee before work, but there's usually space to spread out if you're working on your laptop. The staff are friendly without being overbearing, and they clearly take pride in what they do. It's the kind of place where you'll start recognizing regulars and the crew behind the counter.
It's not perfect – the space is on the smaller side so peak times can feel cramped, and the menu is deliberately limited. But for a neighborhood coffee shop that actually cares about its coffee and treats customers like people rather than transactions, Three Apes hits the mark. Worth the trip even if you're not local to Raynes Park.
