The Post Bar

The Post Bar is one of those places that makes Seven Sisters feel like a proper neighbourhood rather than just a postcode. Five minutes from the tube, it's a multi-purpose cultural hub that does a bit of everything — live music, DJs, art shows, Argentine food, and a rooftop to boot. The interior is a single tiled-floor room with a stage at the back, a dark wood bar to the left, and the kind of scruffy-chic décor that makes you feel like you've stumbled into someone's cool friend's living room. The empanadas are genuinely good, and the Argentine grill menu is a step above typical bar food.

What really makes this place, though, is the programming. The live music nights range from jazz and soul to indie and electronic, and the ticketed gigs mean the room gets properly packed and buzzing. On non-gig nights it's a relaxed spot for a drink — the beer garden and rooftop are a godsend in summer. The crowd is a real mix: local creatives, Tottenham old-timers, and the occasional curious newcomer. It's not polished, and that's exactly the point. The Post Bar feels like a community space that happens to serve great drinks and food, rather than a bar that's trying to be cultural. That distinction matters.

The only downside is that when there's a ticketed event on, the whole venue closes to casual drinkers, so you can't just pop in on a whim on gig nights. Check their social media before heading down. When it's open as a bar, though, it's one of the most genuinely interesting spots in N15 — a place that earns its 4.4-star rating the hard way, by actually being good rather than just being there.

L'intérieur, c'est une seule pièce carrelée avec une scène au fond, un bar en bois sombre à gauche, et une déco bohème qui donne l'impression d'entrer dans le salon d'un ami branché. Les empanadas sont vraiment bonnes, et la grillade argentine est largement au-dessus du standard pour un bar.

Ce qui fait la singularité de l'endroit, c'est sa programmation. Les soirées live vont du jazz à l'électro en passant par l'indie, et quand c'est un concert ticketé, la salle se remplit et l'ambiance devient électrique. Les soirs sans concert, c'est un endroit détendu pour boire un verre — le beer garden et le rooftop sont un vrai bonheur en été. Le public est mélangé : des créatifs du coin, des habitués de Tottenham et quelques curieux de passage. Ce n'est pas lisse, et c'est exactement ça qui est bien.

Le seul défaut, c'est que lors des concerts ticketés, tout le bar ferme aux clients de passage. Un conseil : regardez leurs réseaux sociaux avant de vous déplacer. Mais quand c'est ouvert comme bar, c'est sans doute l'un des endroits les plus intéressants de N15 — un lieu qui mérite ses 4,4 étoiles sur DineAwards non pas par sa simple existence, mais parce qu'il est réellement bon.
