Tucked away on Burnt Ash Road, The Lord Northbrook is Lee’s go-to Victorian pub that’s finally gotten the refurbishment it deserved. Skip the tourist traps and head here for a genuinely local vibe—think polished wood, a sun-drenched patio for summer afternoons, and a menu that nails the British roast without pretension. The staff are friendly (locals swear by Gina), and the beer selection from Fuller’s is spot-on. Just order your roast beef medium if you’re not into rare—some folks get confused by the default pinkness.
Lee’s Reliable Local Pub
The Lord Northbrook is the kind of pub that feels like it’s been part of Lee for decades, even though it’s had a fresh coat of paint and a new menu. It’s not flashy, but that’s the point—you’re here for the comfort, the community, and the reliable food. The Sunday roast is the star: tender lamb or beef, proper roasties, and vegetables that actually taste like vegetables (skip the purée if you’re like me). The patio is a real winner in summer, and the bar staff genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see the same faces week after week, which says everything about its place in the local fabric.
